In 2002 Peter and his partner Felicity discovered Chindit House. Six years later, after a lot of hard work and tender care, this beautiful stone mansion set in an acre of secluded grounds in the heart of historic Glastonbury was reborn this year. Nestled aside the banks of the River Axe near Wookey Hole sits this fabulous Victorian country house designed and built in the Jacobean style as only the Victorians could, and what a splendid job they did. On arriving, seeing this majestic building and the fabulous grounds and location is reward enough, and thoughts of hold-ups on the M25 and the M4 become just a distant memory. Nestled on the southern slopes of the beautiful Mendip Hills with far-reaching views out across the beautiful Somerset countryside including Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Reservoir and on a bright clear day, the Bristol Channel are four compact studio apartments, each one being well equipped right down to the little items that you so rarely find but always need when you are on holiday.  Most importantly, the apartments are owned and run by Lawrence and Perry who are a smashing couple who really do go that extra mile to ensure that their guests are well looked after, and have a great local knowledge of the area and all the interesting places to visit.

A friendly warm and comfortable bed and breakfast amidst the magic and mystery of beautiful Glastonbury. Sue is an excellent cook, and there is a fabulous choice of food for breakfast that is served in the super conservatory that looks out across the pretty garden to the Abbey. Lazy Dog Cottage will simply enthral you. It has all of the archtectural quirkiness that you would expect from a cottage of this age.
