 Gay Friendly Bed and Breakfast
Chindit House Bed and Breakfast, Wells Rd, Glastonbury, Somerset

www.chindit-house.co.uk

In 2002 Peter and his partner Felicity discovered Chindit House. Six years later, after a lot of hard work and tender care, this beautiful stone mansion set in an acre of secluded grounds in the heart of historic Glastonbury was reborn this year. Peter and Felicity will tell you that it was nothing less than a labour of love. Both their natural artistic talents shine through wonderfully: beautifully presented bedrooms where brass bedsteads, voluminous drapes, period furniture and architecture all melt into a delicious fusion of beauty. Juxtaposed against all this romance and history, the bathrooms pay homage to modernity. Peter and Felicity are fun, thoughtful, welcoming and incredibly hospitable. Thank you both for sharing your beautiful home with us and our readers.  Chindit House is charmingly understated making it a fabulously unique stay in Glastonbury.

Gay Owned and Run Country House Bed and Breakfast
Westbrook House bed and Breakfast, West Bradley, Glastonbury, Somerset

www.westbrook-bed-breakfast.co.uk

David and Keith, the very friendly and welcoming couple who own Westbrook House, have combined their extraordinary talents of garden and interior design to create a quintessentially English country house bed and breakfast that oozes timeless elegance and understated glamour. Westbrook House is set in the peaceful hamlet of West Bradley on the edge of the Mendip Hills and the Somerset Levels. Quiet lanes and footpaths wind through the local apple orchards that are just perfect for country walks and cycling whilst taking in the stunning views of the countryside and the awe-inspiring magic of the spectacular Glastonbury Tor. The accommodations are stylish and comfortable and have lovely views of the beautiful grounds and countryside. All have television, radio and free wireless Internet access. The Flower and The Panelled bedrooms, both on the first floor, are decorated in an exquisite timeless Victorian country house style. The Garden Room, being on the ground floor, is ideal for the less able traveller and also benefits from its own private door to the garden. Westbrook sits in 4 acres of lovingly cared for grounds and gardens where mixed borders of seasonal and unusual plants surround this beautiful house, and their meadow is planted with an abundance of spring bulbs, fruit trees, wild roses and lilacs. This is without doubt a very special place for only the luckiest people to find.

Gay Friendly Boutique Country House Hotel and Restaurant
Miller's at Glencot House Hotel, Glencot Lane, Wookey Hole, Wells, Somerset

www.glencothouse.co.uk

Nestled aside the banks of the River Axe near Wookey Hole sits this fabulous Victorian country house designed and built in the Jacobean style
as only the Victorians could, and what a splendid job they did. On arriving, seeing this majestic building and the fabulous grounds and location is reward enough, and thoughts of hold-ups on the M25 and the M4 become just a distant memory. The interiors are simply stunning: voluminous drapes framing mullioned windows, huge tapestries, oodles of antique furniture and objets d'art abound. The atmosphere of timeless country
house elegance and unashamed luxury drifts effortlessly throughout every room. What makes Miller's at Glencot House so special is the
delicious and brave disregard for normality. This is without doubt Jacobean architecture punctuated with lavish camp and eccentricity which
simply enthrals body and soul. To me, it is Anne Boleyn's period elegance with Noel Coward's indisputable sophistication and Freddie Mercury's flamboyance that makes Miller's at Glencot House Hotel so wonderfully unique. Inevitably there is a downside here: you will never want to leave.

Gay Friendly Guest House and Licensed Gay Wedding Venue
The Old Court, Guest House, Temple Cloud, near Bath, Somerset

www.theoldcourt.com

The Old Court has through the years been residence to the great, the good and the not so good. You see, this handsome masterpiece of
Gothic revival splendour was built in 1857 as the Divisional Magistrates' Court and Police Station. Then an amazing lady called Nancy brought
this beautiful Grade II listed house and together with an army of dedicated craftsman restored it without detriment to its fine heritage,
adding a considerable amount of chic and style on the way, transforming into perhaps one of the most unique and pleasingly quirky guest
houses you are ever likely to see. The Magistrates' Court, a magnificent baronial room nearly fifty foot long and almost as tall, is approached
via a grand entrance hall and sweeping staircase designed originally for the dignitaries – the public had an outside stairway and the prisoners came up from the cells via dank stone stairs which still emerge through a trapdoor. The three jail cells are now unique bedrooms and contain original features and character with their vaulted brick ceilings and original doors. Don’t be surprised if your morning tea is offered to you through the access panel on your jail cell door. If you’re feeling romantic, you must stay in one of the luxury rooms: they are simply fabulous
and are equipped with working fireplaces, a Jacuzzi and sitting area. Whichever room you choose, they are all amazing. There is also a
stunning Roman Bathroom with a large Jacuzzi that leads to the tower via a circular staircase where you can relax in the sauna room whilst enjoying the stunning views of the outstanding countryside. The only thing you will be short of when you stay at The Old Court is TIME.
